So, what's the point of being a part of 'Make the Point'?! If you can see yourself tackling a 'picturesque, punishing' route whilst feeling 'proud' of yourself for making a huge difference to a whole lot of babies and kiddies, you're in the right place. Come along and walk, run, in some way cover, the 6 or 10k route or simply hang out at the event start family fun day. Or a mixture of both, but you'll be sure of a great day out! Scroll down to learn about the route and the family fun event at Kewstoke village hall or click here to register interest for a place in the 2017 event.

About the run (or walk....)

Quite simply, as the name suggests, our event is about making the point, yep no hidden agendas here! Making the point of fundraising for charity, because that's the important bit! As well as running, walking, hop, skip or jumping a route to make it to 'the point', Sand Point to be precise! So long as you bring a pair of suitable daps with you, along with your sense of having a lot of fun, you're on to a winner.

Right, the sensible bit... There's no denying it, the event route is a challenge, the reason for its namesake really. To make it to the point, we're gonna cross all kinds of terrain and rocky surfaces, grass, sand, concrete, gravel, possibly mud, you name it, it's on this route. But my, once you've made it, the rewarding view is totally worth it! Sand Point is a National Trust Coastal path route, for more info, check out the webpage https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/mendip-hills/trails/sand-point-circular-coastal-walk For more serious talk, fine print, T's and C's, whatever you wanna call it, please check out the 'On to the point of serious stuff' page!

About the fun day.... (No entry fee for the fun day....)

Not everyone wants to walk, run, hop, skip or jump 6 or 10k across mixed terrain no matter how pretty. And for all those who don't, or those waiting for someone who does, or even those trying to entertain the children while some one does we have a proper treat in store.

Kewstoke village hall will be armed with games (can you guess just how many sweets are in a jar?), cake, bouncy castles, more cake, other food stuffs, some cake, stalls (some possibly equiped to supply cake), some cake, face painting (near the cake) in fact a wide range of thoroughly entertaining distractions for all the family all in aid of some great causes. Never has supporting people in a running event been so fun, or so tasty! Come on, come and join us for the day. We'll be starting at 10 to give the runners a nice big warm up so why not come and join in? (Or eat cake in front of them while they warm up....)
